At UMC Utrecht, I’m leading the newly established Cloud Center of Excellence. I’m responsible for designing the Azure platform, including, for example, the development of Landing Zones, the identity architecture, and the governance model. Together with the team, we’re implementing these capabilities through automation to ensure a secure, scalable, and efficient cloud foundation. Key technologies and frameworks: Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Entra ID, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender, CAF, Well-Architected Framework, NEN 7510, ISO 27001.

I’m an Azure Solution Architect and Consultant based in the Netherlands, with nearly 20 years of experience helping organizations, from startups to global enterprises, adopt secure, scalable cloud architectures. With a background in software engineering and a strong focus on DevOps, I specialize in designing Azure landing zones, modernizing infrastructure, and enabling platform teams to work more effectively. I combine technical depth with strategic thinking, helping organizations turn cloud technology into real business outcomes. I’ve led cross-functional teams, established Cloud Centers of Excellence, and supported major Azure migrations in regulated industries. Recent engagements include leading the CCoE at UMC Utrecht and developing the migration strategy for over 150 workloads at KLM. I’m also a published author (Azure Infrastructure as Code, Manning), international speaker, and regular blogger. My passion is helping teams build cloud platforms that actually work, for engineers, for compliance, and for the business.
