Java and Spring Boot Expert

I currently lead the backend development of iDEAL 2.0, the Netherlands’ primary online payment platform, processing 1.6+ billion transactions annually and supporting 70%+ of all Dutch e-commerce payments. In this role, I combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, designing and delivering highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS. I lead architectural decisions, drive system reliability and observability, and coordinate closely with product, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure zero-downtime releases and production stability at national scale.

I am a senior backend engineer and tech lead with 10 years of experience designing and building large-scale, mission-critical systems. I currently work on iDEAL 2.0, the Netherlands’ primary online payment platform, where reliability, security, and scalability are essential due to the national impact of the system. My background is strongly rooted in Java and Spring Boot, with extensive experience in microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-based platforms. I enjoy working hands-on while also taking responsibility for architectural decisions, system design, and technical direction.
